Horace Dediu, who has been extremely kind to me over the past few years by inviting me to his Asymconf and Airshow workshops, indulged me even further by having me appear as a guest on his podcast The Critical Path.
I have a few of extensions to make (and also clarifications), which I hope to blog soon, but here is the synopsis for the episode:
Horace discusses politics and disruption with Michael Tofias. Is disruption of government possible? Michael pursues the study of American political institutions, elections, Congress, and computational political economy to reveal how disruption might play out within governments.
It’s a pretty wide-ranging discussion, but a pretty fun one too. I hope that you’ll take a listen. Perhaps I show a bit of rustiness when talking political science and political economy having spent too much of the past couple years considering python and not politics, but overall I’d give myself a B- (which is hopefully good enough, so to speak).
