Late to this, but Young Avengers by Kieron Gillen & Jamie McKelvie is amazing. And perhaps most impressively manages not only to carry off its over the top cheesey ending, but to earn it.
The whole series is a fairly tightly constructed 15 issues and apparently The OA is no good so you have plenty of time to read this before the world ends in January and the government bans gay superheros.
To sum up: Billy loves Teddy and so does David, maybe. America loves Billy, but not like that while Hawkeye (Kate, not Clint) just wants to bang the super hot if fairly vapid Marvel Boy. Their parents just don’t understand and neither does Captain America and yet they still find a way to save the world both from and with Loki. Don’t squint too hard and it will all make sense by the end. Promise. Well mostly, it’s still comics.
Highly recommended.
